I suddenly remembered what Noel Coward´s ripost to Spike Jones´s song would have been. Given the atmosphere during the war years, it must´ve taken a lot of courage to swim against the tide with a song like this:-



That song is such great fun for children ! You reminded me that I used to hear it on the radio, on a Saturday morning prog called Children´s Favourites. That´s where I first heard:-
