@Trollheart - Thanks for your kind words! I don't know how well my "talents" would allow me to write for our local paper...although our local paper is rather ****! It's decent football coverage and not much of anything else.

@Lateralus - Local music needs nurturing. Why wouldn't it? It's so frustrating to see my city struggling with promoting and organising gigs and artists, when they do it so much better just along the road. This week I e-mailed to join a local events forum. How much I can help I can be I'm not sure, but if I can be involved in events in Sunderland then I want to do whatever I can to help.

@Gavin - The Animals were formed in Newcastle, but Alan Price is from my tiny little village, which is a district of Sunderland. We are very proud of that, mainly because we can only lay claim to him, Toni Halliday, Bryan Ferry and that dude from Franz Ferdinand.
