The Lives of Others (2006)
Not sure how I missed this film until now. An East German couple in 1984 are under survelience from a a Stasi officer. This is an excellent political suspense thriller as well as a fine in-depth character study. Watched the film on cable but will definitely hunt down a dvd copy.
