i think ass napkin ed is wrong in the sense that its not 'the point' of being an artist but i certainly agree with u manky. its a balance of makin the music that is true to you and makin music your managers and label tells you to make to create larger appeal

at some point every band makes the conscious decison to switch from muisc-as-a-hobby to music-as-a-job. and if joe schmoe got a job offer with a pay raise of 2000% they would take the new job almsot regardless of what type of job it was or whether that new job would make friends and fans of his angry
