Yeah, I've noticed this too and read a few articles on some up and coming micro and craft breweries who are using them exclusively and making the argument that it's better. Not only for the environment (more recyclable, takes less energy to produce, etc.), but because cans keep the beer fresher for longer by allowing no light to pass thru to the beer. I've heard this before as an argument for repackaging other products (milk: cardboard vs. plastic, shampoo: solid plastic vs. clear plastic) so I guess it makes sense, as the light breaks down the product faster.

Anyway, I haven't noticed a substantial difference in the way beer tastes from a can vs. a bottle, but if it's better for the environment then that's pretty cool.
