i think its cause females are always used to guys being after them and gettin so much attention. its probably reassuring for them subconsciously. womens whole lives guys are competing for their attention and not the other way around. so i think the reason it works so well to not give a girl attention or kinda ignore her is because since she is so used to guys wantin her attention she has the assumption that you are still tryin to get that attention but from somebody ELSE. so you found someone better than her. but thats an ego shot which she aint cool with. thats why she wants you even more
