I am talking about the MAIN MTV channel which is what their award show is promoting. They are not promoting those indie artists on those specific channels that you can only get at certain universities or cable packages. Those are not "universal" MTV channels. This conversation is on the
main universal MTV channel.
MTV took off their
music television channel label last year. They dont want to be a music channel. They are not a music channel
anymore (which they made perfectly clear over the last decade).They might
occassionally play music videos but that is not something they are heavily promoting so I think having a music award show is unnessary. I think a more appropiate award show for MTV should focus more on reality tv shows since that is what they mostly promote.

MJ Vanguard Award is actually a Lifetime Achievement Award and they changed the name of the award to the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 91... Her nor Justin deserve a lifetime acheivement award at this point in their careers and they have not made groundbreaking music videos on the same level of the past recipients.
