I agree with the versions.. and i do understand that we're showing respect to the artist..
But what i can also see is that before everyone was trying to make something knew and as far as my kowledge shows me they didn't want to be compared to anyone else..
covers and versions are for sure part of the learning proress but don't you think that this can be "fear" of respecting and trusting ourselves as well as part of creation?
I can see loads of bands doing their own things as well but I think we need to risk more and not be always pleasant to our ears keeping us moving on a confort place of something that we've listened before.
I agree as well that if we put our minds into it we have to be carefull not to force it.. but i think we won't if we feel it different it will show us different..

to be honest i don't know nothing.. but i feel that something needs to be changed in the way we do songwritting...
