I mean, hell, my uncle got all the way through law school....but didn't pass the Bar and won't take it again, and that alone is enough to make most of my family think of him as a failure. He's now living comfortably as some generic worker at Home Depot and his wife is a doctor so he ended up getting into a situation where he has tons of money anyway.

Heaven forbid I ever find out what they think of someone that doesn't even get through the first four years.
Don't compare yourself to other people especially your family. They want to see you succeed obviously, but they should also want to see you happy. If college is not for you, then it's not for you. That's fine. Same with your major, if you're not happy with it or not enjoying it as much as you thought you would, there is probably a better fit out there for you. Don't ignore your family completely, but do remember that only you know what's best for you.

I remember my parents were so fucking pissed when I told them I was going to major in music. Neither of them went to university or college and they told me that I should pick something better that will allow me to have a better paying job, unlike the "crappy jobs they have" (which are well paying and not crappy, btw). I don't give a shit about making lots of money, I care more about getting a job that I will actually enjoy doing.

My first year of school was really hard because of all that pressure around me. Then I decided not to give any more fucks about my parents opinions, and also not cram all my courses into four years. It got so much better after that, and now I'm 2 classes away from completely finishing.
