I'm honestly undecided on this issue since I don't believe it's practical to try to disarm the American public, since as you have pointed out we're already armed to the teeth. For me, it's a practical question. Is it possible to drastically reduce the access to both legal and illegal guns at this point in the game? I think if we could achieve the type of absence of guns that exists in England, the murder rate would drop drastically. It's just a matter of whether or not that is a feasible goal.

There are a few loopholes that need to be closed like the ones about being able to purchase at gun shows without background checks, etc. I pretty much agree with you but that's one of the few things that can be done. Also potentially having required updated checks annually and mandatory safety courses about using a firearm. Just a few things I thought of and I'm sure there are more little things we can do here and there.
