The reality is that for every 'moment' where BIG "brought light to the griminess of New York's poor black communities" there were many, many more where he reveled in monetary and material possessions and wealth.
As a whole over their two opposing albums, it is Kendrick who has actually highlighted social issues more.

Kendrick has also been caught revelling in his own greatness more than enough to irritate a socially conscious listener, as well as not even try to explore old topics with any kind of fresh viewpoint. It's either contrived or unoriginal, which doesn't really inspire any gratitude on my behalf.
