I agree with you, I don't see them as supporting war either. But to be honest I'm not sure how I feel about the appeal now supporting current soldiers.
I think the main thing is if people are going to wear it, wear it with pride and for the right reasons, don't feel bullied into it by the poppy police, don't use it as a symbol to attack minorities/religion etc or to showcase your charity.
& Let people who choose not to wear them, not wear them. The fact that they have the choice is testament to what it's all about.
