I think I'd be deluding myself to say give it a week, because who genuinely waits that long to get in contact, chances are she's just not interested.
I usually take girls numbers, I quite dislike giving out mine actually, but that first opening text is always extremely awkward isn't it. Perhaps she's in that situation now but something tells me that's just false hope.

Oh yeah, if it's been longer than a week then I would just forget about her completely.
She might be the type to send you a random text like a month later or a few weeks later and you should do the right thing and just ignore it.
