Default Need Help Refining Amplitube3 Metal Sound... [Updated]

So, I record my guitar direct input because I have no amp. I add Amplitube3 for my amp (VST). I need some help refining the sound though...

I have this melodic black metal project and I don't quite like the tone I am currently working with:

The problem I have with this sound is that it is a bit too digital (I know it will never sound entirely realistic, but I have heard others that sound far more realistic).

Another issue I have is that it is a bit "thin" and the high end is a little winy.

Here are pictures of the setup (nothing on stomp 2 or rack 2):








I tried to use some different mic'ing techniques, but any dual mic or recommended set up I try ends up resulting in a thinner, more winy tone.
