Facebook is for people who are desperate for attention, and some people will go to great lengths to get noticed. You only have to look at the photos stuck on there to prove that.

In a very few years, it will be a source of embarrassment to even admit that you once had a FB account. The problem is, that the pictures of you sticking your backside out of a window in a moment of drunkeness will find its way onto someones desk when you go for a job or seek a promotion.
Its also a bit like a potential new husband/wife/partner doing a 'credit-check' on you or reading your life history before realising what a jerk you are.

You seem to fallaciously claim that everyone who has a FB account automatically becomes an attention-whoring, idiotic cretin who exhibits themselves to as many people as possible, while in fact, many people on Facebook has a relatively small circle of close friends and their activity is mostly limited to chatting and sharing pictures and events now and then (
with their friends).
In short, I think you are making a huge generalization.
