For an event organizer to invite you to a foreign country is not cheap so if they're paying lots of money then they have to pay for quality and someone who'll pull a crowd.

I would advise you to build your profile/brand 1st. These days a lot of musicians book themselves. Each time they go on a vacation they speak to promoters/event organizers of whatever country they're visiting and hook up a few gigs and if they rock they get booked.

A local tour can help as well. Create video footage and upload on video sharing sites such as Youtube.
