I'm hoping it's another Canada/US finals in Sochi. I recognize you're proud that Canada won, and rightly so, but ya gotta admit that we gave you everything you guys could handle in Vancouver, and then some. That final could've gone either way.
Also, needless to say the reason for the relatively low percentage of US talent is that about 2/3's of this country is warmer winters and more basketball-centric. I prefer hockey myself, but that's the way it is here. Most US kids don't have the frozen-solid ponds to play on like Canadian kids do growing up.
Speaking of which, what do you guys think of tomorrow's Leafs/Wings game in "The Big House"? 100,000 fans for hockey? Seems to me that unless you've got front row (or close) seats it'll be like watching it from the moon, esp. from the nosebleed seats. I'd probably choose to watch the game on TV, at least I could see what's going on.
As for tonight's game, the only reason we're going is half price tickets. We're Everett Silvertips fans, I'll be rooting for Kamloops over the hated Thunderbirds. Not that I give the Blazers much of a chance, they're one of the weakest teams in the WHL. Strange, seeing as they've always been such a power...
