I think The Monks have got to be one of those bands that when I first heard them I kinda stopped and had to double check when the album was released! I mean the organ is probably going to be forever linked to The Doors as much as it is church hymns, but The Monks used it in a way which few others, that I've found, have. And with their chanting/shouting/speaking way of singing lyrics I just feel they beat the Sex Pistols to punk by a good 10 years. I doubt they did have much influence, but I feel that a lot of what they was years ahead of other bands.

Or yaknow, Elvis, he did make rock 'n' roll sexy
