I agree with most of what has been said above (especially Kyuss and Monster Magnet), some other good ones are:

Meat Puppets (Plateau? Acid trip personified?)
Tool (Especially on Lateralus - tracks like Reflections, Disposition, and Lateralus)
Frank Zappa (especially on We're Only In It For the Money)
The Prodigy (see Narayana and Narcotic Suite: 3 Kilos)
Pere ubu
Kraftwerk
Captain Beefheart
The Residents

Bauhaus
Echo and the Bunnymen
Liquid Tension Experiment

And depending on what kind of "trippy" you're going for, some other crazy bands are:
