I'd agree but in less strong terms. I mean, so the Beatles may be music legends but I've never heard one of their albums. Nor do I want to. I don't care for that sort of music, never mind the "essential contribution to music" they made. I don't take that away from them, but just in the same way as I would never listen to an Elvis record, I don't see why everyone is expected to listen to Floyd. No band is that essential, and even if they are, there are bound to be those who haven't heard them or, having heard them, don't like them. That's what musical diversity is all about.
That said, anyone who doesn't listen to Floyd is an alien and should be deported back to their home planet...
