The first time I had sex was in missionary position and it was anything but awkward, it wasn't the best obviously as I didn't have that much of an idea what I was doing concerning the sex but as far as I could tell he had no complaints, I'd had loads of sexual encounters before I had sex so it wasn't like I had cock fright when it actually came (lol) to the sex.
