People you meet online exist in this world, maybe they're not living in your country. There are time-zone differences, yes, but the time you spend online is real time.
The truth is, I appreciate people I know from the internet as much as those sitting next to me. Maybe even more, since I can talk about music with them.
The reason for the separation is because online you can focus find the people that you want to talk to and know that you will be able to hold a better conversation with them as opposed to people that you interact with on a daily basis where you have actually stare them in the face.

Saying IRL and online doesn't mean that online people aren't real.
