I understand why US would put it above British Steel over Ace of Spades since he's a big AOR fan (not that Priest are AOR, but you know what I'm sayin'), but as a lover of dirtyass 80's black metal like Venom and Bathory Motorhead get my nod by being so ugly and powerful.
I'm usually at loggerheads with myself when it comes to melodic polished metal vs raw metal and the former usually wins out, quite simply because I prefer it but I try and be as objective as possible. The only reason though that Ace of Spades is not even higher, is because it was weakened by a couple of lesser tracks that came in a row. But saying all this, I imagine that the upcoming grassroots thrash and death metal albums over the rest of the decade are really going to dominate my listings, as they're just so goddamn great. BTW I certainly dig Bathory more than Venom.
