And Dj is right, if you are gonna measure american's eating habits just by that film Super size me you're gonna get a negative and simple minded perspective of the whole thing cause that is the portrayal in the movie.
If you had seen an american documentary on let's say a vegan community and their lifestyle in america you would have a different perspective on a america.
So yea Obesity is a problem in the US but it's a problem by choice in most cases, so you don't need to feel sorry for them or preach a healthier lifestyle to them because that's also one of the choices they have.

I do not have the perspective of america, that everyone is fat, fast food addicted, and in love with things that are bigger than normal. I mean I'm sure there are a lot of people there, that might achieve these criteria, but that hasn't really been my point. As it's already been said, I was just worried, that it was so easy to get your hands on fast food, and that it's more cheap than healthy food is just outrageous, especially because of the children, because they don't have a choice. If their parents eat fatty, than they probably will do the same, until one day they might get to the state of mind, where it's their own decision and they can say "no" to it.
Here in Germany, Fast Food is expensive. Not as expensive as going to a restaurant, of course, but if just buy your ingredients at a supermarket and cook yourself, you can eat without really paying money, lol. Also there are many many vegetarians here, and the hype of fast food doesn't really reach us that much, maybe because we illuminate a lot about the dangers of eating processed food.
The USA has the problem, that fast food was kinda born in your country, yknow? All the big corporations come from america, and they all do a lot of brainwashing, so people will buy their products. They do that here as well, and it makes me worried. But I worry about everything, so... :P
