Yeah, cars are ...dunno. Never had one, never will have one, never will need one. Everything is connected by train & bus systems, even if you don't live in the city. And if you go by train, it's cheaper than driving with a car

For the record, I didn't own a car for 14 years and got by just fine. You do need them in a lot of the US, but not in the denser cities that I lived in during that time.
