The 20/20 Experience -
Justin Timberlake
You know, I haven't given pop a fair go. I'm not the type of music fan who worries about how overproduced music is, or how marketed. Really could care less. But if it's pop, I expect it to be somewhat catchy. I decided to give Justin Timberlake a run through since I followed his career during adolescence. This is the only album I haven't listened to.
During my run through I've seemed to have lost my grip with his earlier stuff (apart from
Rock Your Body since it's pretty funky). Maybe it's the flat Timbaland produced pop. Who knows. This album however really surprised me. It's far better than his last two. I've always thought funkier tunes would suit Justin much better and this album delivered for the most part. It's brighter, more involved, and a really different turn. I'm glad he's going in the direction I hoped he would.
Gotta say I dig
Blue Ocean Floor too.
