You don't need a gun for this though. & If you were setting traps & snares to catch stuff you'd be more in touch with the outdoors than just walking round/lying down waiting to shoot whatever you see imo.
You'd probably need a gun to catch birds but you could catch deer, rabbit, squirrel, most land animals in the woods without one if you know what you're doing.
