Please try to understand this, if you only understand one thing in all my posts: the reason, as I have already said, I made "a big thing about it" is that you put words in my mouth and said I was takign a stance I was not. You ignored virtually everything else I said, so I won't be surprised if you ignore all this too.

Hmm. Ignore. Not a bad idea.

Also, you're now backtracking on noob. You told us you find it offensive and now you're trying to pretend it's no big thing after you had pretty heated discussions --- or at least deep discussions --- with several people here, even going so far as to call people ignorant because they didn't agree with you. Make up your mind: if it's an offensive term then it's an important issue for you. If not, why bring it up in the first place? Another example of your framing the argument to suit your logic.

Now, you're on Ignore, so bye bye. I won't have to listen to your drivel any more.

And Neapolitan, I stand by my view on "Abacab", though you are of course entitled to yours but what it has to do with this I have absolutely no idea....
Hypocrisy: Volume One

Trollheart, our protagonist, is frustrated that someone "put words in [his] mouth," which I admittedly did but have since apologized for but that's neither here nor there. Trollheart continues, however, and then places words in someone else's mouth! "Also, you're now backtracking on noob. You told us you find it offensive..." BAM! Here is everything I said the entire time based on the word:

Additionally, "noobs" is an inherently derogatory word on its own and I despise it. You may notice that I have never and will never use that word unless I'm actually addressing when someone else said it, like in the above paragraph.

Yes. I've even been a part of gaming communities and I never used the word or appreciated when others used it there either, and that's what the word was actually made for.
Quote:
Why are we focusing on this? I don't find it offensive or anything but it's a pretty insulting word and it's silly and I don't ever use it. This is not like some shocking thing about me or about any person that might have the same view.

Do you guys have no clue what the origin of the word even is??

Urban Dictionary: noob

This was never meant to be some endearing term for people that are new somewhere. Maybe you guys don't see it that way here but in other communities it's definitely an insult and that's how I've always felt about it. When the word was first gaining popularity it was exclusively an insult in every context I had ever seen, but apparently here you're all just using it to refer to new people without any negative connotation for some reason.

You know how some things that are normal in the United States would be perceived as insulting in China or some other foreign country? Well, the word noob clearly isn't insulting here and everywhere else you two have been, but on the sites where my internet origins come from, like Gamefaqs and RPG Maker forums, the word noob was insulting and basically meant you were a complete idiot.
Never once did I say it was offensive to me, and I even specified that I don't find it offensive!! The hypocrisy is so strong that I can almost taste it on my tongue. Too bad I'm apparently ignored so he'll never know that he's a hypocrite which is pretty much the worst personality trait in existence.
