I think this also points to a trend of genres trying to mix too much. Experimentation is fine, but when you have pop stars using rappers for their verses or country bands like Florida Georgia Line incorporating Hip Hop elements in their songs, it comes off as trying too hard. Plus, it's just plain annoying.
And don't Forget Ludacris rapping on "Baby" by Justin bieber, i agree, they need to stop this stupid trend.. they use these rappers as hype men in their songs, in some cases they don't even rap they just stand in the background going "What!? Yeaaa!" like lil jon, it's like you said, they're mixing the genres in an over indulgent kind of way.
