Are you talking about a specific one -- AIDS, cancer, Miley Cyrus --- or all diseases?

I don't have an answer to it, it's just the first thing I would get rid of/change.
I wouldn't get rid of religion, who am I to demand it to be taken away, people are free to believe what they want as long as it doesn't show/involve intolerance to other beliefs, but I would probably reform the Qur'an.
