When the full band is gigging, not so much. I'm also in a smaller group where it's just a singer/songwriter/guitar player, and me. I went to her house on Sunday, and we played for about 5 hours. We get together about twice a month. So there's that.
When I record I'm usually alone (well as alone as one can be in a dining room attached to a kitchen, where my *cough* studio is set up... love it when the GF decides to start doing dishes mid-solo), but once in a while people will be over and I'll ham it up a bit more than when I'm by myself.
I do love taking my nylon acoustic out to a meadow, or a nice shady spot in the woods though. It's kind of spiritual.
