I've listened to it multiple times with headphones and I think that's really the best way to listen to this album. Just put on some headphones, relax, and just try to focus on the musical arrangements. There's a lot of promise on display, although I will concede I do also miss the gimmick because it had a lot of energy to it. This was my jazz, not something trying to emulate my parents or grandparents jazz. That kind of stung at first, but then I just kind of let it go and appreciate the music for what it was, and eagerly anticipate their next release to see which way they'll go.
