I thought Springsteen's album earlier this year was the worst he'd ever released. It was practically a parody of himself.
Clapton's last album was a joke as well, IMO.
Some veteran artists excel when they hook up with the right producer, someone who's not afraid to push their ego and get them to write and/or record some fine material. Now I did enjoy McCartney's last album as well as Elton John's.
