So I found out last night that Stevie's birthday was a few days ago, and I remembered that I've had these two albums (as well as a few other soul albums that I'll get around to listening to later this week) on my hard drive for two years, yet I never listened to them at all. To say that I regret this is an understatement.
Talking Book is more consistently great IMO (I'll admit that I don't care for a couple of the tracks on
Innervisions, but they'll probably grow on me when I listen to them again), but the first three tracks on
Innervisions (along with Higher Ground) are incredible.
