There are some places where men and women are not comparable, but that doesn't necessarily mean one is unable to contribute something valuable to the same role. That's the entire idea of teamwork; people make up for one anothers' weaknesses with differing strengths and perform the duties best suited to them. The problem is when assumptions are made about strengths which are objectively unfounded.

But she still would likely be less capable of doing the physical aspects of the job. There's a reason why they do the physical tests. It's not like they let men who can't meet the physical requirements pass anyway if they show aptitude for other jobs. Workplace equality is all well and good, but when people's lives are at stake then safety has to take priority.
