i'm just curious....how are the rest of you picking your votes?

at this point....well really from the beginning....i really like all of these band...a lot

but i'm at a point of not just thinking of the influence they had on me when i was younger.....most of these bands i really got into in the early 90s when i was a teenager

but also how much they are still a part of my daily life....and many of these bands are....so I love the Smiths...but i can't honestly think of the last time i sat down and listened to an entire album beginning to end

and i think Gang of Four's Entertainment is seriously one of the best albums ever made.....but i'm not into the rest of their discography...although i did put on Solid Gold the other day and really liked it

but i still listen to The Cramps almost daily

etc etc etc
At this point I'm pretty much voting on how consistently good bands have been. Like you, I love Entertainment! but am pretty meh about the rest of Gang of Four's output. With Joy Division, I love Unknown Pleasures and a lot of the stuff collected on Substance but have never really liked Closer very much. With Pixies, I love Doolittle but find the rest of their albums to be a mix of stuff that I like and stuff I don't. The Cramps are a little different case. I think I like them more in theory than in practice in the sense that I do like them but I almost never sit around and listen to them.
