Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones

i promised William the Bloody i would get this and give it a spin....i have to say...he and hate paper doll are spot on with this one....it seems to me to be a bit more texture and much more thought out than their first album....which i'm also thinking a may want to re-visit

Woven Hand - Refractory Obdurate
it would seem to me that David Eugene is continuing down the path he turned onto with 2012s Laughing Stock...a.s always real Wrath of God type stuff going on....and at the same time some of the most beautiful and creepy rock music i've heard...and intermixed with usual Appalachian folk vibe....it'll be hard to knock this one out a "top 10" list

Baxter Stockman - Punter
debut album from the noise/sludge trio hailing from Helsinki, Finland....this is a nasty piece of work that would be happy next to your Rapeman and Scratch Acid albums...a great soundtrack for heavy drinking and beating yourself bloody

Big Troubles - Romantic Comedy
i hung out with an old friend last night....and after two hours of Devo videos....we decided to basically plug....just nort in that site....he played these guys and although i can't figure out what song he played...i really liked...grabbed this album first...and i'm loving it's simplicity....reminds me a lot of The Ocean Blue

The Cutthroats 9 - Dissent
this topped my most anticipated list the second i heard about it....this is the fist output from The Cutthroats 9 since their 2002 5 star EP "Anger Management"....this does not disappoint at all...reminiscent of Unsane...probably due to being front by Chris Spencer....this a 7 track bluesy assault of unadulterated noise rock fury....also just love the album cover

The Drums - Portamento
another band that Neil played for me last night....and i'm about half way right now through this album....i have to say that i'm a bit surprised at how much i really like this....great, fun indie pop with a bit of classic 80s synth mixed in it.....kind of reminds me of the first Interpol album....but different

Hands Up Who Wants to Die - Buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo
thought out and well played noise rock from Dublin, Ireland....almost a mix of Jesus Lizard with math giants Faraquet....but really going off at times.....this album was recorded in a WWII bomb shelter in Germany...and it almost has that exact feel....a must to check out if you like noise rock...esp the AmRep offerings...looks they have a new album coming out later this year....something else to look forward to

Skull Defekts - Dances in Dreams of the Known Unknown
thought i'd grab this as Sidewinder made them sound interesting...what he forgot to mention is fucking incredible this album is....and yeah it's amazing that a band this good with so many albums....usually three a year....and this is the first i've heard of them...so as far as i can tell Skull Defekts is a post hardcore noise group from Sweden who often feature Daniel Higgs(Lungfish) on vocals....and that this album is a collaboration of just that....so at that this is what Faust would sound like if it was fronted by Steve Albini....this is a very dark and moody album...but at the same rocks real good....thanks Sidewinder for posting....could be a new obsession...they certainly have a discography large enough to last me a while
