It was a Saturday night and a One Direction concert had just gotten out so everything was totally packed. We tried going to The Font but it had a line. We tried going to Thirsty Scholar but it was really crowded. In the end, we stumbled across this bar called The Temple that appeared to be built into an old subway station and it turned out to be just the kind of dive I love. Lots of character and quite a few characters in there. Really friendly bartenders as well.
On a side note, you'll be happy to know when we were taking the taxi into town from the airport, I saw signs for Bolton and thought of you.
Edit: I just looked it up, The Temple is a former underground toilet. Even better!
