I recently found Drain STH just by searching around YouTube, and while I wasn't overly impressed at first, a few songs in I was hooked. The next day, I downloaded their album Horror Wrestling: it was released in 1996 with MVG Records, and was the Swedish band's first studio album.

Horror Wrestling is clearly a metal album, and there's nothing really there to distract from that; you can hear some grunge influences in their songs, but it's not too blatantly obvious. While all the tracks tend to be the same level of heaviness and have a similar, angry mood, it is written and produced in a way that makes every song interesting in its own right.

My top three songs on this album (in no particular order) would have to be Klotera, Serve the Shame, and Unforgiving Hours. I really like the lyrics for Klotera for some reason and they get in your head; the melody of Serve the Shame is brilliant; the guitar in Unforgiving Hours was something that stuck out to me when I first listened through Drain STH's discography.

All-female metal bands seem to have a weird amount of stigma behind them in the community, and I think listening to this excellent group may help people understand why that's rubbish - they've got style, heaviness, skill and talent, and this album is something I'd reccommend to anyone who's into rock or metal.

The only problem I can sometimes have with Horror Wrestling is that the songs can get a little repetitive, but that's an issue I have with quite a few metal albums, and it's not something that ruins the experience in any way for me, and I doubt it would for any other fans of the genre.
