If this is true, then she spoke about something she doesn't know much about. The difference between her and everyone else is that she's famous and an easy target for a bunch of pseudo-philosophers to appear smart by insulting. I know we have our differences, DJ, so to be clear I don't have any problem with you posting the article, but what passes for journalism and thought these days is really scraping rock bottom. None of it does anything for the betterment of society, its just for the writer to use as a stepping stone to their own Today Show interview.

The more I listen to her the more that her "accent" bothers me. I've been listening to her for like the past two years but her vocal black face is starting to grat my nerves in the worse way. There is a bigger commentary about certain white rappers deciding that's it is okay to go around acting like exaggerated characters of black people that rubs me the wrong way. You might be fine with cultrual approriation especially since you give zero f
ucks about running in a race and participating in a basterdized verision of Holi.
Also just because she is in the music industry doesn't give her an automatic pass to be ignorant. She also has a whole team behind her and they aren't speaking open to even clue her in on what she is doing. I guess it does make sense though because why would you want to harm your cash cow.
I see the article as an opinion piece that opens up discussion. Even if it's discussion that you disagree with. It still needs to be talked about because it's problematic. They aren't trying to win any journalism awards just create a discussion at the very least.
