I think it's gotten a lot better in the twenty-first century, but during last few decades of the twentieth century, guitar was really fetishized and viewed as
the lead instrument, which I find annoying. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy guitar. I'm just saying that its long-lasting prominence among other instruments is silly. Piano, trumpet, sax, violin and any number of other instruments are perfectly worthy lead instruments.
