That image was actually my first actual visit to that transcendent volcanic lake, there's an almost spiritual experience seeing that place (said the atheist). My first direct view of it was from an airplane on a flight between LA and Seattle in '06 and it took my breath away

explained here) is from this incredible lake-in-a-volcano. I would visit it right now (with a stop at Cannon Beach either before or after) if I had the scratch for gas/food/lodging/National Park entry fee.
Kind of a big if, tho...
