I just thought of a time when I was making business cards for a Russian guy (he was a plumber or some sort of custodian type of guy) and I had no problem understanding his accent throughout the entire design process, but once the order was placed he said something to me that caught me off guard.
I had to call someone from another department to answer his question.
He said "Bothell" (which is a town somewhere, but I'm not native to the area) "Do you know how long it takes to [get to] Bothell?"
I legitimately thought he was saying "butthole" and couldn't explain to any of my coworkers why I was laughing so hard as he walked away. I felt like such an idiot.
