Exactly. I've worked in retail, the most issues I've had was from a rude manager who ended up being fired. I have the type of friendliness to take an angry customer and have them smiling on the way out. If you get that irritated by people who may not understand store policy, then this is probably not the right job for you. Customers may have different backgrounds and education so you have to treat them with respect and communicate with them at the level they understand. Having high standards for customers will only result in you getting upset. I realise some customers can be out of line in terms of being unreasonable but empathy is a great skill to have. Negativity breeds more negativity. Like they say, smile and the world smiles with you.
