I think a lot of the queer community within punk rock has shifted more towards indie rock over the years. There's a lot of stuff coming out lately that kinda fuses the two- bands like Hard Girls, RVIVR, Shannon and the Clams, Sourpatch, Mika Miko... I could go on. Maybe it's just because I live in a very queer friendly city but most of the recent punk/diy shows I've been to over the years had pretty diverse crowds. The sound just isn't what you'd call... I guess traditional punk for lack of a better description. And the values/politics are a little different.
Unless you're talking about the more commercialized bands? **** like Rancid and NOFX? In which case... yeah. Suburban white dudes is pretty much the most you'll get at those shows.
