I'm sure I can handle FFVI, it's just a matter of working up the will to grind enough to fight Kefka. Got any tips for facing him?

Everything else is pretty manageable at the moment...I really would love to finally beat FFIX because it's a great game but for some reason I've never made it to the end. FFVIII just confuses the hell out of me what with the damn junctioning thing.
For me, I beat Lady Yunalesca just with sheer brute force. But I also made sure I kept my defense up and had a constant flow of healing in play. Bare in mind that I fought her several, several years ago but I am sure that if you put up a heavy offense/defense tactic, you will win. I sort of do heavy grinding in every Final Fantasy, it's a bit of a habit. I know her mega death is pretty annoying though...

Kefka was one of those bosses that I just kept my defensive high. I tried to let my party fall below a certain amount of HP throughout the fight. It's good to grind and level your characters as much as you can, that will help as far as giving yourself a stronger defense. Some bosses are more about taking it slow as apposed to flying out the gate with guns blazing.

I recommend making heavy use of Viva in Final Fantasy 9. He's a pretty valuable character. I never encountered anything really that challenging in that game though. Probably because of my grinding habit.

Haha, the junction system in FF8 confuses you? Man. That thing can be your secret weapon if you know how to utilize it correctly. You can boost defense, attack power, magic defense, infuse your attack with magic effects, it's a blessing man. There's several ways to build your characters with the junction system that gives you huge advantages over most bosses or enemy encounters in general. Certain magic will grant you magic defense bonuses almost to the point of being immune, absorbing too. You need to toy around with it, you'll gradually find out ways to make it work for you.

Come at me, bro. I bet I am more of a grind master than you are.
