The music album in its earliest form came around in the early 1800s, if Wikipedia is to be trusted. This means that the only albums ever to have made a truly world-changing impact are Black Sabbath's debut and some archaic classical recording from two hundred years ago or something. So yeah, every twenty years makes a bit more sense.
