Hank Williams III—Ghost to a Ghost/Gutter Town
I've been meaning to check out Hank III since I first read about him sometime in the late 90s. So I started with his crazy ass
Cattle Callin' album and have now moved on to this, which is actually country unlike the other album. Country, yes, but country made by a person who clearly spent a lot of his formative years listening to the likes of Butthole Surfers, Ministry and Jesus Lizard. It has fiddle and banjo and whatnot but everything seems aggressive, overdriven and a bit off-kilter. I'm digging it so far. My only concern is how freaking long this is—30 tracks, well over two hours of music.
