I ask because you seem to be looking for the credit for disco in totally the wrong places.
You're looking for it in a predominantly rock based environment where rock music is celebrated and occasionally they'll throw in a token artist from some other genre because they sold a lot of records.
I wouldn't say it's anti disco, I would say it's anti pop music with disco being a sub genre of that. There were pop bands coming out of the UK who sold ton of records in the U.S. in the 70s & 80s you won't see any of them in this hall of fame either.

If you want to see disco get the credit it deserves then look at the music it spawned, that's why I asked you about European club music where disco music is practically worshipped and is a huge influence on what is played in clubs, not just in Europe but in Australia, Japan & South America where club culture is virtually ingrained on people aged around 18-30. The U.S. has never really given club music mainstream attention apart for when disco originally broke, but around the rest of the world it's huge, but you're never going to see that if you look at the music establishment, especially in the U.S.

In short you need to expand your horizons a bit further. America is not the world.
