Generally I noticed, that people mostly resort to the "that's not music" argument to denounce music they simply don't like. I think that's a strange way of thinking. You don't have to categorize things to not like them.

Well said. Just because I don't enjoy Skrillex doesn't mean its not music (I guess)
Jokes aside, I've heard full albums of basically ambience, stuff that is silent at some points, a door creaking, some occasional strings, a couple of notes...its a bit odd, but it is music.
